Purpose and Objectives
Tyler Forever Families: The After Adoption Connection, a care group for adoptive families, began September 13, 2005. The group meets several times annually.
Adoptive families, especially stay-at-home moms, often feel isolated because of many changes that occur after bringing their children home. The family dynamics, schedules, and friendships are also affected. They face multiple challenges including:
- Introducing the children to God's love.
- Establishing trust with them.
- Planting in the kid's hearts a desire to dream.
- Teaching them to respect authority.
In response to these families needs, this adoption support group was formed. The main purpose of the group is to bring these families together for a time of fellowship and encouragement in an atmosphere of Christian love and understanding. The meetings inspire families and equip them to become better parents and friends to one another.
